ABOUT THE GARDEN

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously". (2 Cor 9:6)

The Mustard Seed Garden is for the enjoyment and benefit of the members and visitors of Lutz Community Church, as well as for the members of the surrounding community. But above all else, it is to glorify our God in sharing His love, mercy, and abundance.

The Garden includes both “Communal” plots, for food donation to local food ministries, and “Adopt-a-Plots”, for new and experienced gardeners alike, who would like to learn more about gardening and would enjoy growing their own fresh produce.

If you would like to work only with the donation (“Communal”) plots, we would love to have you join us (no experience necessary!). We garden every Friday morning from 8:00-10:00 and from 8:00-12:00 on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  Special events are noted on the Church Calendar.

Want quality time with your children without distractions? Would you like to learn how to grow your own fresh vegetables? Grow what you and your family like to eat! Adopt-a-Plots will be available for $10/year for a 4’x4’ raised bed. Too many tomatoes, carrots, or peppers? We will be glad to add it to our donations to local food ministries.

We are continually called upon to be a people who surrender their time, talent, and resources for God’s healing work, hospitality, and witnessing to our neighbors.

What does the Garden do for God’s People?

This Ministry will add to the health and well being of those who benefit from the restoration of the soul, exercise for the body, education of organic growing methods, social interaction, and the reward of harvest for the benefit of others.

The MSG will donate fresh produce to local food pantries for people that have limited access to nutritious, fresh, produce. It provides the affirmation of faith in following God’s plan. The garden is a place to provide, sustain, and show His Goodness.

It will provide a place for all to come, sit, and enjoy the opportunity to engage as God’s people, to be His servant. A place to "be still and know that He is God".

We feel truly blessed that God has provided for our garden through generous donations and support, and will continue to send help to us for the completion of this work in His name. Should you wish to donate to the Garden, please write "Mustard Seed Garden" in the memo section of your check.

We invite you to explore the MSG website for more information, and check the MSGM calendar for updates on workdays, fun events, classes, and “2nd Sunday” happenings.

In the Garden we will kneel in the dirt, dig our hands in the soil, plant God’s seeds of love, and pray. For, we do indeed have the abounding faith of a “mustard seed” for this new garden Ministry. To God be the glory!
